An Evening of Insight and Connection

Last night/week, I had the pleasure of attending the Avenues Surrogacy Event in London—a relaxed and engaging evening dedicated to shedding light on the surrogacy process. Whether attendees were just starting to explore surrogacy or already deep into their journey, the event provided a welcoming space to ask questions, hear real experiences, and connect with professionals in the field.

One of the highlights of the evening was meeting Dr. Ali Al Chami, Medical Director and Fertility Consultant at Avenues. Dr. Al Chami brings a wealth of expertise in assisted reproduction, having trained at University College London Hospital and worked extensively in fertility clinics across the UK. His knowledge spans everything from recurrent implantation failure and reproductive immunology to egg donation and surrogacy. His insights into tailoring stimulation protocols for different patient needs were invaluable, making complex medical concepts accessible to intended parents.

Equally enlightening was hearing from Andrew Thomson, Scientific & Quality Director at Avenues. His expertise in embryology and laboratory standards plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality fertility treatments. He spoke passionately about advancements in IVF technology, the importance of embryo grading, and how scientific precision impacts the success of surrogacy journeys.

The evening was not just about medical and scientific insights—it was also about personal experiences. Intended parents shared their surrogacy stories, bringing warmth and relatability to the process. Listening to real journeys reinforced why it’s so important to have access to trusted professionals and support networks when navigating the complexities of surrogacy.

At The Surrogacy Father, I strive to help intended parents explore their options with clarity and confidence. Events like this are a fantastic way to stay informed, connect with experts, and meet others walking a similar path. If you’re considering surrogacy and don’t know where to start, opportunities like these are invaluable.

A big thank you to Avenues for hosting such an informative and welcoming event. If you missed it, don’t worry—there are always more opportunities to learn, and I’m here to guide you through every step of the way.
